HB APA - "The Producers" Musical
The Academy for the Performing Arts opens the door to its musical season with Mel Brooks’ hilarious Broadway sensation, “The Producers.” “This is “The Producers” debut among OC high schools,” said Director Tim Nelson, “We’re excited to be the first to take on this production.” --More-- About The Producers: A scheming producer and his mousy accountant aim to produce the biggest flop on Broadway in Mel Brooks' laugh-out-loud spectacle. As a big Broadway musical, “The Producers” once again sets the standard for modern, outrageous, in-your-face humor. It is a true Broadway hit, winning a record twelve Tony Awards and wowing capacity crowds night after night. We follow the antics of Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom as they maneuver their way through finding a show, hiring a director, raising the money and finally going to prison for their misdeeds. At the core of the insanely funny adventure is a poignant emotional journey of two very different men who become friends.
