The Huntington Beach Art Center provides the setting for three true tales of unstoppable courage and vanity. Featured storytellers include Debra Ebrhardt, Brenda Adelman, and Mariana Williams. Actress/Author Debra Ebrhardt knows “Jamaica Farewell” is more than a song. With the unwitting help of a CIA Agent, she risked her life escaping her home in Jamaica during a violent revolution. Actress Brenda Adelman’s mother was shot and killed by her father and then her father quickly took a new bride, her aunt (her mother’s sister). Her life lesson was to learn, then teach, forgiveness workshops. On a less dramatic scale, although equally shocking, author/storyteller Mariana Williams undergoes budget plastic surgery—with a doctor practicing out of his suburban home in Park City, Utah. “If the audience doesn’t lean in, gasp, tear-up, or belly laugh, we haven’t done our job,” says producer Mariana Williams. She adds, “We will do our job.” $10 at the door or in advance at BrownPaperTickets.com.
